Paws and Whiskers by Jacqueline Wilson ( A 2014 fundraising anthology for Battersea)
I always appreciate a book of short stories - always fun and I think they are nice because it doesn't take a long period of time for the author and they can concentrate easier and its a nice snappy thing for example. Here is an example:
A beautiful thing
Sarah looked up into the light skies. A snowy white bird flew past, a golden tattered scroll clasped in its claws. It dropped into Sarah's hands.
Meet you at the Jagged Rocks of Truth.
With two girls: Adrianna Simpson and Liliana Katherine Clyde
Best wishes, Johnny Lorde and his son, Lewis
Paws and Whiskers is a companion of many short stories, all about pets, including a section on some well-known authors and their inspiration and pets. This companion also includes a short story written by Jackie about Leonie, who has joined the school, and desires to be in the PET GIRLS club, but there's one little problem...
She doesn't have a pet!
Let me know how you found the book in the comments below. Thanks, Emmi!
